Dan Powell
Lead Pastor
Dan grew up in Normal, Illinois. He attended Trinity International University where he received a bachelors in Biblical Studies. Dan later went on to pursue a Masters Degree from Wheaton College in Evangelism and Leadership with a certificate in Outdoor Adventure Leadership.
You can find Dan leading his kids on adventures in the woods, playing a round of Disc Golf, or anywhere there is a team sport being played like hockey. Dan loves to invite people into Christian community so they can experience the Kingdom of God in tangible and radical ways.
Liz Powell
Lead Pastor
Liz grew up in the suburbs of Chicago in Elk Grove Village. In high school, Liz felt the call of God on her life to pursue ministry. An amazing God story led her to attend Trinity International University with a scholarship to play in the concert band. She graduated with a degree in Christian Ministry. While working in camp ministry, Liz went on to pursue her master’s degree in Evangelism and Leadership through Wheaton College.
Liz enjoys being a mother to her 3 beautiful daughters, Ellie, Karis, and Chloe. Woven into Liz’s life are the pleasures of being outdoors, drinking good coffee, painting, running and reading! Liz is passionate about people flourishing in their lives through a deep relationship with Jesus.

We met at Trinity on the third day of orientation and the rest, as they say, is history. We’ve spent our whole marriage learning how to do ministry together; it’s on an ongoing adventure! Over the years we’ve learned how to lead from our strengths, where we compliment each other well. After spending 6 years as Program Directors in Christian camping ministry in Wisconsin and Louisiana, we were hired by the Vineyard Church of Baton Rouge as Associate Pastors in 2015. We started our family and had all three of our girls in Baton Rouge. In 2020, we felt the call to come back home to Illinois to lead Life Vineyard Church. Through several amazing God encounters, we were led to Life Vineyard Church where we serve together as Co-Lead Pastors. We truly love our church community and enjoy living in Mahomet while experiencing everything Central Illinois has to offer!
